1901 Census - House 40 in Ardgroom Inward, Kilcatherine, Cork. Thomas Jones 70, Mary Jones 63, Herbert Jones 25, Charles Jones 22. Episcopalian Church of Ireland.

Herbert Jones came to the USA in 1905, my great-grandfather.

I can find nothing for Thomas, Mary and Charles in the 1911 census.

How would I go about finding a death record for Thomas or Mary?

Is there an Episcopalian cemetery that I might look to?

Thomas died in 1903 and Mary in 1902. See index records below. If you want to get copies of these records from the GRO for about 4 euros each let me know and I will explain the process.

  • Roger,

Thank you so very much. I can't believe this information.

Can you explain the process for obtaining copies of records?

    Regards,

    Kate

Go to this link for the GRO (General Register Office) http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx

Hit the link for death certificate in English. A screen will come up asking for a User Name and Password. Hit cancel and the form should come up. Print tow copies of the form. Fill out the forms and provide the info from the index record: quarter/year of death, registration district (Castletown) and the volume and page number ( 5 and 41 for Thomas) and ( 5 and 41 for Mary). Make sure you ask for a copy only not a cert. You can also ask the GRO to e-mail the copies back to you. As I mentioned before the copies cost around 4 euros each.

It's rather a long time since you made your posting and hopefully you have managed to make some progress in the interim.  I do have information on the Jones family in Beara which will probably be of interest to you.  Further, although I can't prove it at the moment, I believe you are related to my wife whose Great Grandmother was Cait Jones (b.1854) from the Ardgroom Inward/Tuosist area.
