I am searching for any information on Captian Joseph Ingham. In 1690 he accompanied William III to Ireland. He and his brother, William, held commissions in the Dutch Guards. Lieut William Ingham was killed by King James party on the eve of the Battle of Boyne. Joseph fought in the battles of Boyne, Aughrim and the siege of Limerick. After the Treaty of Limerick he retired, married a Miss Kinsellagh (sp?)in about 1700 and took up residence at Lisnamaine...or Johnsville, or Sycamore Fields. His sones were Oliver - 1702, Thomas - 1704, Charles - 1707, Rev John - 1700, Richard - 1712, Cromwell Oliver - 1713, Daughter Elizabeth - 1706. I would appreciate any information or anything on how to search for information. I have found only one possible reference in the Farnam Papers.

Hi Christine
It is very difficult to research so far back in Ireland as no church records survive from this time .
Have you checked the Muster rolls ? http://archive.org/stream/musterrollsetc1700mont/musterrollsetc1700mont…There were very few farmer Ingrams in Co Cavan during the times of the Tithe applotments 1827 and the Ingrams mostly centred around Knockbride http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/results.jsp?…
