I am looking for information about the Leonard and Freeman families of Loughglynn, County Roscommons.
Hubert Leonard born in 1837 to Patrick Leonard and Mary Carroll.
His wife, Julia Freeman born in 1839 the daughter of James and Mary Freeman.
They, along with several children, emmigrated to the United States before 1885.
Another family who possibly came with them was Thomas Teahon.
Curious to know if there are any of these names still associated with the area.
Hubert Leonard family supposedly worked for Lord Strickland as caretakers of the Dillon estate and left the region sometime after it was sold.
My father who is near 80, along with his brother will be visiting the region in June. I was hoping to be able to put together some information before they travel.
Thank you in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

The 1911 census has 27 Freemans in the Loughglinn area, across a number of townlands. No Leonards:
The current Irish phone book has 7 Freemans for Co Roscommon. One house (Martin & Catherine) is in Loughglinn demesne which is the area your family came from. Another (Rose Mary) lives in Ballyglass East which is also in Loughglinn. You might want to contact them.
