Hi Anne
I am trying to find a marriage receord for Mary (Honorah) Mahony and Patrick Cleary. Patrick Cleary is from the Waterford area but I don't know what parish he was from. I would like to establish the townland for both the Mahony and Cleary families. Is that possible with the information I have with the link to Kilwatermoy parish?

Good news, rootsireland.ie, a pay site, has a marriage record for Mary / Honorah. I searched for Mahoney marrying Patrick Cleary and it shows one record:
Church Marriage Mahony Honor 1828
I don't have any credits, so I cannot look up the record, but you might want to try. Witnesses for weddings were often family memembers.
For my own personal interest, what townland in Kilwatermoy parish as Honorah? I have Baldwins / Briens / Hayes from Kilwatermoy townland in Kilwatermoy parish.
thanks,
John

Hi John
Thank you for this information. I have looked at the rootsireland.ie website and have purchased the certificate for Honor Mahony and Patrick Cleary. Unfortunately there is only one witness noted.
I don't know what townland in Kilwatermoy parish Honorah was from. It has been very difficult to trace information once I go back to Ireland.
Thank you for your help I can now add one more piece to the puzzle
Kind Regards
Amanda

For some reason, the tithes for Kilwatermoy are misfilled under county Mayo. You can find the starting of the tithes for Kilwatermoy here https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-14174-3870-7?cc=1804886&wc=M…
I'd suggest you browse through the pages, just in case you find your ancestors there.

Thank you for this tip. I have located the family in the tithe appoltment books for Kilwatermoy, Entry 104 the townland is Dunmoon.
I don't think I would have discovered this without your knowledge, thank you.
I now would like to search for Patrick Cleary. I have been told that his family were farmers from Cappoquin. I have visited the Catholic Church in Cappoquin and looked through the baptism and marriage records but could not find any entries for Cleary. Would you have any suggestions regarding Cappoquin?
Thanks for your time it is appreciated so much!

Sorry, I don't know Cappoquin so well. My 2xGGF Patrick Baldwin was born in Kilwatermoy townland to William Baldwin & Ellen Brien - that's how I knew about the tithes. Oh, and I have ancestors from Kilmoremoy parish, county Mayo. Somehow, I think that the indexers got those two confused.
Another good resource is http://www.waterfordcountylibrary.ie/ - they have a death records for county Waterford on-line for free.Good luck!
