As stated on the 'Orphan Register' in regard to the Earl Grey Scheme, I am looking for information regarding Catherine McGee: BG14/G/5(723) from Florencecourt,Mulnavigh, entered the Enniskillen Workhouse on the 20/3/1849 and left on the 26/10/1849. She emigrated on the vessel Derwent arriving in Melbourne Australia on the 25 February 1850. Catherine is my maternal G G Grandmother and we are trying to search for any information regarding her birth and her parents and what actually happened for her to arrive at the Workhouse destitute etc
I allready have documents regarding her entrance into the Workhouse but would like to have documentation of her birth and parents BMD and if she had any siblings etc.
Hoping someone can assist us,
Janis Wilson email janiswilson@bigpond.com

Dear Janis
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and thanks for your query.
In relation to your search you could try www.familysearch.org or www.rootsireland.ie (a subscription site) for information on Catherine?s birth. As you probably know, baptism and other church records vary in start date depending on the parish. There is a townland called ?Mullnaveagh? in Co. Donegal. It is located in the Civil Parish of Clonleigh (number 8 on the Map) for which I attach a link:
http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/fuses/civilparish/index.cfm?fuseaction=GetMap&CityCounty=Donegal
The records for the Roman Catholic parish of Clonleigh begin in 1773 as you can see from the link below:
A search of the websites mentioned above may be of assistance to you in finding Catherine and any siblings.
Best of luck with your search
Clare Doyle
