As you can see from the link below, Enniskillen is a Civil Parish in Co. Fermanagh:

Church of Ireland records for that parish begin in 1667 while records for the corresponding Roman Catholic Parishes of Tempo begin in 1845 and Enniskillen begin in 1838. Unfortunately, you are correct. It is very difficult to conduct family history research for earlier times. Have you searched the sites suggested below?

www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some church records for Ireland.

www.rootsireland.ie have a large collection of Irish Church records, however you have to pay to use this site.

http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/ have begun a project to upload Irish church records to their site free of charge. However so far only Counties Dublin, Kerry, Carlow and parts of Cork have been covered.

I'm not sure you're right about this "John Vance 1820 Married Jane Emmerson, Enniskillen. His Father James Vance born 1801 I think in Drumkeeran and his Father William Vance 1770 who married Jane Sproule".

The James Vance son of William and Jane married, I believe, Mary Chittick, in 1824 at Oghill and went off to Australia with her where they had children.

John Vance who married Jane Emmerson was, I think, the son of James Vance and Ann Steen and I'm not sure who James's father was.

I'd be interested to discuss this with you.
