Hello there,
I am seeking any information regarding the family of Cornelius Mahony and Jane Shehan (Shehen/Sheehan). Their son James Mahony left Ireland in 1838 to emigrate to Australia. He came with his wife Ellen Manley (Manly) and three sons. (Cornelius, James and William). James was a stonemason and I have reason to believe that he may have lived and worked on the Headley Estate in Aghadoe.
What became of Cornelius and Jane? Did they have other family? Where might there remains lie?

As you can see from the link below, Aghadoe is a Civil Parish in Co. Kerry:
Records for the corresponding Roman Catholic Parishes of Killarney (Fossa) begin in 1857 and Glenflesk begin in 1821. There are some places where you can search online, however these websites do not have complete collections and many do not cover the period after 1900:
www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some church records for Ireland.
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/ have begun a project to upload Irish church records to their site free of charge. However so far only Counties Dublin, Kerry, Carlow and parts of Cork have been covered.
