dear parish notice board.
Looking for information on PATRICK POWER of 8 Annaghbride, Kilmeen Parish, on 1901 Census of Ireland.
In 1911 his widow BRIDGET POWER and daughter ELLEN were at 9 Annaghbride, Kilmeen Parish.
I don't know what became of them. My gt grandfather FERGUS POWER was a son of Patrick. He left Newtowndaly, Co. Galway for Blackburn, Lancashire in the 1880s. My grandmother MARY ANN COYNE nee Power was born in Blackburn.
I have one other link - my uncle visited the area in the 1950s and stayed with a MRS N. ROARKE - also of Annaghbride - I don't know if she was a relative?
Yours

Dear Steve
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in replying to your message.
Records for the Roman Catholic Parish of Leitrim begin in 1815. There are some places where you can search online, however these websites do not have complete collections and many do not cover the period after 1900:
www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some church records for Ireland.
www.rootsireland.ie have a large collection of Irish Church records, however you have to pay to use this site.
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/ have begun a project to upload Irish church records to their site free of charge. However so far only Counties Dublin, Kerry, Carlow and parts of Cork have been covered.
Post-1900 queries will have to be dealt with by the Parish Priest/Secretary:

Alternatively, you can contact the General Register Office for civil records: http://www.hse.ie/eng/services/list/1/bdm/Certificates/

Best of luck with your search
