Is it possible to request a certified copy of a Parish birth/baptism record from the local Catholic church in Fintona, Co. Tyrone? This is for my mother, who was born in 1926. I have emailed the local church, but they don't respond to emails. I'm wondering if these sorts of things are stored elsewhere, and perhaps I'm asking the wrong people.

As far as I am aware, for a baptism in the 1920s, the parish priest holds the only set of records, and so you will need to pursue him.
Many parishes get rather more requests for copies of records than they can handle and so it?s not unusual to hear that there was no response to your request. You may need to phone the parish priest (or get someone else to phone on your behalf) to try and press your case.
