Francis Haire (widower),married Jane Jude, (spinster) in St Paul's 5 Feb 1848. Francis' father was John Haire of Glasslough, Monoghan. Jane's father was William. Francis was a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin and in 1849 emigrated to Adelaide, South Australia where he established Albert House School.

I can find no record of his first marriage. I believe that he had a son Francis born about 1847 who died in Adelaide in 1849, although he does not show on the shipping list.

Francis' father, John, was a Captain in the british army (Redcoats) and served in Tasmania and Adelaide (1841) on garrison duty before returning to Ireland. He died in 1861 with probate aug 1863 in Armagh to Francis Haire of Drumcin, Armagh. ?a brother?

I am starting with St Paul's as it is where he married but am looking for any assistance to find more info.

Francis was born about 1811 and died in Adelaide in 1864 - quite young. he had a number of children in Adelaide with one of his daughters, Emily Jane born 23 July 1852, marrying my greatgrandfather Thomas Wilson in Adelaide in 1878

    Suggest you go to www.irishgenealogy.ie  which has some Dublin church records. I located the 1848 marriage which you already have. I also located the June 23rd 1847 baptismal record for his son Francis at St. George's church. The surname was shown as Hare. The mothers name was shown as Jane Hare. Unfortunate that her maiden name was not shown but at least you know that her first name was Jane.

    Civil registration of Protestant marriages started in 1845 and I was not able to find an index record for the marriage which leads me to conclude they were married before 1845.

    Thanks for that response. I followed through and found that this Frances Hare was female and the father is shown as a servant, so I am not sure if it is my little Francis.I am going to try and backtrack through his Father in Glasslough
