According to my research Capt John Haire had 2 children

Anne Jane b. 1899c Married Isaiah Charlton. Thery had 2 children:

John Haire Charlton b.1829c and Harcourt Peter Charlton (Rev) b. 1834

and Francis who married Jane June and emigrated to Australia 1849.

I am trying to discover what relation Francis Haire Drumcrin (his executor) was to him and

who were Francis Haire's psrents - (my brick walls)

It seems we are facing the same brickwall.  Since joining this sight I have a had number of helpfull responses but not THE answer.

I have been tracking the Haire family associated with Armagh Manor, Ballagh, between Lisniskea and Rosslea. It must be close to Drumcrin so I am hoping for a connection. The Armagh Manor Haires were well known landholders. It is believed they acquired the manor in the early 1800,s. The manor seems to pass after three generarions (James, Robert, James) to cousin William Hamilton Haire, Major Ret.d, then to a nephew of his. In 2012 there is a news article outlining some financial trouble with the Ulster Bankand references a William Haire, 86, and his son William

The Francis Haire in the probate I have taken to be John's brother but he may be a nephew. This Francis also had a son Francis who is on the Farm in the 1901 census. His son John is there in 1911

It is john's age which worries me. He was either 86 or 89 (2 sources) when he died in 1861.

This makes him at least 66 when he reportedly arrived in Adelaide on Garrison duty with the 51st Foot Regiment (and others).

There are similarities with the Armagh Manor Haires in that a few were educated at Trinity College Dublin, some became reverends and others were military (Major WIlliam Hamilton Haire of Irish Fusiliers) but most of them seem to be later than our John born around 1772

Will keep searching for any HAires and hope for a probate or an obituary to pop up

Francis Haire (executor of Capt John) is buried in Church of Ireland graveyard, Lisnaskea.

His headstone states he was born 1810, and died 1875. It also states the

headstone was erected by his son Francis.His wife Martha ........ is also buried there. The townland of

Drumcrin is about 10/12 miles from Armagh Manor but is not far from Glassdrummond, Lisnaskea

where Hamilton Haire lived  -  he was a barrister in Dublin, Born 1770 died 1844. He is also buried in the same graveyard as Francis,

I think Francis was a nephew of Capt John Haire and it may be possible Capt John Haire and this

Hamilton Haire (barrister) are brothers.

The Robert Haire you mention was a  brother of Hamilton, Both are sons of James b,1737.d. 1833. This Robert Haire and his son James were also barristers in Dublin but the family seat was Armagh Manor.

Maj. William Hamilton b.1835 d. 1871. was the eldest son of Rev Hamilton Haire b. 1802c d. 1883.

Rev H Haire being the son of the Hamilton Haire I have referred to earlier.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.  Have visited Donagh old graveyard at Glaslough as well as

St Salvador at Castle Leslie but did not find a headstone for John Haire died 1861.

It may be easier to talk by email

I have lots of files relating to the Rev Harcourt Peter Charlton and his brother Rev John Haire Charlton

Both of these men had sons but I have not been able to trace either son

These are Henry Lyons Charlton and Michael Elliott Charlton respectively
