I am searching for information on my grandfather (Mike Haley) who was born in Co. Roscommon in1858 and immigrated to the US about 1889 with his wife Mary Somers Haley and several children. John Somers was, I believe, was a brother of Mary. Mary Somers was born in Co. Roscommon in1856. Would appreciate any information.

    Is it possible that your grandfather was Michael Healy. I found the 1881 civil marriage index record below. You can get a copy of this record from the General Register Office for around 4 euros. The record will show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where the bride and groom were living in 1881. If you plan to get a copy let me know and I can forward instructions.

    I checked Roots Ireland www.rootsireland.ie and they have an 1855 baptismal record for a Mary Somers in the Athleague RC records. Roots is a pay site to view the transcription of the church record.
