Can anyone help my sister, Christine and I please? Our ancestors are Sadleir, Kate (Catherine) born 1865, Abina, Elizabeth and George. Their parents are George Sadlier and Ellen Shea. We have been looking at the wrong place for many years.
Am I right that there is a place further north with the same name. A hand written Xmas card list from the 1930s that we possess has the spelling as "Guileen" and that is what we have been looking at.
Our direct ancestor, Kate Foster nee Sadleir, lived a long and happy life with our Papa Foster here in Portsmouth, however we have been unable to trace her, or her siblings, with any great success. Can anyone help us to give life to our tree?
These are the facts that we have obtained so far: George Sadlier born 1865 Aghada, cork, 1911 census, his service records, and his death in 1943 in Middleton. We believe their parents were George and Ellen. We would love to know a little more about Gyleen, Whitegates, Cork as well. Griffiths valuation has some information .
This has been our brick wall for many years, and we hope that, with the correct spelling of Gyleen, we can finally get through it. Regards to anyone reading this, and happy hunting to you all from Pam Neil and Christine Elliott nee Neil

Hi there,
We are stuck, we've hit our brick wall, with our Thomas Neil bc. 1850 enlisted 1868, perhaps he changed his age on enlistment.
So we have started to track all Neil names on the Griffiths, plotting them on a map, and will peruse the information we gather.
Perhaps you can help us with his occupation, bootmaker, was this a cottage industry, or factory? Would he have been Apprenticed?
We are guessing at his parentage, we are prepared to purchase certificates, but don't want to until we are certain they belong to us.
We hVe no other family members to help define the pArents.
The grave details were brilliant, but we can't take that any further until we have some confirmation of parents, family etc.If you can help us that would be grand.
