    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Do you have a time frame for the above couple's marriage or any further info?

    Best wishes

  • Dear Clare,

    Thanks for your reply.

Bridget Magner and Michael Conway are my great grandparents.

Their daughter Elizabeth is my grandmother (my father's mother).

I think they married around 1865.

They had 9 children, but apart from  Elizabeth, I only know about 1 other daughter, Bridget, who remained in Ireland.

I think at least one other daughter went to America, but I do not know her name or where she went or what happened to her.

I would love to know what happened to the rest of the Conways.

There don't seem to be many Conways around that area on the censuses.

Thanking you for any assistance or advice you can give me,

    E. Walsh

There are 9 baptism records on rootsireland.ie for children born to a father Michael Conway and a mother Bridget Magner in Co. Cork; Mary, 1866, Jane, 1868, Catherine, 1870, Johanna, 1872, Elizabeth, 1874, Edmond, 1877, Michael, 1877, John, 1880, Bridget Mary, 1883.

As this is a subscription site I can't see much more than this. It seems that this is the correct family though, so it would be a good idea to have a look. You may also be able to find them on the free site www.familysearch.org

There is also a marriage record for Michael and Bridget on rootsireland in Cork in 1865. The marriage should give the names of their father and also their mother and the parish they married in.

    Best wishes
