Hi, I would be grateful for any help as given there is very few left in this Quirk line in Australia, there is little around. My Great Grandfather, Thomas Quirk was born  in April 1853 in Cloyne, Cork. His father was Edmond Quirk who married Ellen (Eleanor) McCarthy (Carthey) (DOB April, 1816 in Waterford) in Tallow on 9 July 1839. My Great Grandfather had 3 brothers born in Waterford or Cork. Patrick (24.08.1840 born Tallow) Edmond William (24.03.1844 born Tallow) both immigrated to Australia in Jan 1865 with my Great Grandfather travelling in 1881 with his wife Ellen Hegarty (born 9.04.1843, Aghada, Cork) with the three of their children Edmond William, Norah and Maggie. As you can see I have done extensive work on the Aussie tree. I get to the Irish end and I am stuck. I think my GGGrandfather Edmond's father was Patrick. I am also pretty sure her had another brother John, born 2 June 1849 in Cloyne, Cork and a sister Bridget, born 1 October 1846 also born in Cloyne, Cork. Any info on the Tallow connection woul be fantastic - both Quirks and McCarty

    you could try the Parish Office, Cloyne, co.Cork for details go baptisms. There are several Quirke's in the telephone directory for Cork. There is a Seamus Quirke, Main St., Whitegate. The Mallow Heritage Centre would have birth records that can be obtained online.
