Hi. I have found 2 people who I think are my ancesters, Joanna Twomy.( her father was possibly Dew Twomy) who was married to my GGGrandfather, John Driscoll, married 26th Feb 1797. The second is Catherine Moyhan, born about 1817, married to Dennis Driscoll 7th Feb 1837, my GGrandfather. These are I believe are both from Cork, possibly Blackrock. Dennis was married 3 times, Catherine was the first in Ireland, the other 2 in Birmingham, England. I cannot find a death for Catherine. Have you got these names in your family tree? I would be pleased to see if we could help each other. My name is Frances

  • Hi Frances

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the long delay in getting back to you.

I hope that those researching their Twomey ancestors will see your post. In the meantime have you already searched the ancestry.com public family trees?

    Best wishes

    Hi Frances

The Driscoll's are notoriously difficult to track and some of us are resorting to DNA testing to confirm family relationships.  The group project has just stopped taking Autosomal DNA testing and is now focused upon YDNA (direct male Driscoll) only, however testing with Family Finder on FtDNA's site could still assist in matching your lineage.  I have managed to break a couple of brick walls with it. There is also a Driscoll's of West Cork site you can google and that is a great resource.  I hope you find your people.  Kerry Driscoll
