Hello, I am seeking information on my Irish family, my Grandfather David Theodore Andrews was born in Belfast to George and Elizabeth Andrews on March 2, 1908, he was baptised in St Brigid's Catholic Church, he had a brother James Alexander Andrews born Aug 6, 1913, sisters Annie born October 19, 1916 and Elizabeth (Betty) born July 21, 1919,  I know James and his wife Mary lived at 95 Botanic Ave, Belfast and had 2 children, Patricia born Feb 1 , 1950 and Thomas Donald born March 14, 1957.

I would love to know what happened to my family and perhaps find some more branches to my family tree.

  • There?s a marriage for George H Andrews to Elizabeth Smyth on 27.11.1903 in Belfast. You can view a copy of that marriage cert on the GRONI site for ?2. (Use the search registrations option).

I can see a birth of a George Andrews on 27.8.1904 to what appears to be the above couple. David?s birth in 1908 is also there. This then makes me wonder whether this is mother and George in 1911:

The mother, who was from Cavan, is recorded as having 2 children. It?s not clear where her husband George and other son David were on census night.

  • I am in 'early days' of researching my Great Grandfather, Robert Alexander Andrews - who was born in Bangor County Down on 6 October 1852.  He joined the Navy in 1867, and arrived in Australia on the Loch Maree with a Discharge Certificate in Melbourne, Victoria in 1875.  Maybe a link?  I have not yet successfully found much of his Irish History.
