Hello from Australia.
Youghal looks like a very interesting place with all it's layers of history. Time Team could 'have a field day'
I am trying to verify a relationship or parentage of my G G Grandmother Mary Morgan b.1818. She was married in the parish of Youghal to my G G Grand dad William Leahy in 1841, who seems to hark from Castlemartry. They left Ireland soon after for Australia. With them was Mary's sister Jane Morgan b.1822. The trio boarded the Himalaya for Port Phillip (Melbourne)
On the wedding cert' there is no information except for two witnesses Richard Morgan and John Leahy. I could assume that these witnesses were the two fathers. Richard and Morgan, often together, are passed down for two generations. John is also passed down for three generations. All in the Leahy family
A third Morgan sister, Catherine b.1827, could have migrated to the US and married a McLaughlin?
In Melbourne we hope to celebrate the arrival of the trio in early 2017. It would be the 175 anniversary.
Jane married a John Jordan in May 1842, and both sisters had large families in Melbourne. The family is much larger now.
Perhaps you could please help me find the parents of Mary and Jane Morgan. Their mother has been proposed as Mary Dower. I really like to have things correct and not record history incorrectly.
I know the names are all very common, esp' Mary and William. In Melbourne another William Leahy married another Mary Morgan married and settled in the same area at the same time causing all sorts of confusion. This other couple could distinguish themselves with middle names Henry and Catherine.
Another tree in U.S. records Catherine Morgan as having 6 other siblings, but they don't cite any records, or their names.
So is there any thing or anyone in Youghal to help me, please?
Yours sincerely, Katrina McDonald nee Leahy.

Katrina:
I searched the Roots Ireland indexes and found Mary's 1818 baptismal record in Youghal RC church records. The parents were Richard and Mary. I found five other baptismal records for Richard and Mary in Youghal RC records. However, I could not find Catherine. She likely was born between Jane and John.
Mary 1818
Jane 1819
John 1823
Ann 1825
Michael 1827
Thomas 1829
Roots is a subscription site. This summer the National Library of Ireland plans to place the RC parish registers online for free searching.

Just found this site.
You are probably looking for CASTLEMARTYR and not as you spell it.
