I am desperately trying to find any information on my Gr. Grandfather RIchard Monks' death. The last time I can place him is the 1911 Census. He was residing at House 90 Rush (Town), living with his son Patrick, and Patrick's family. Richard was 75 at the time so I don't believe he lived much longer. The family belonged to the St. Maur Parish and was most likely buried at the Whitetown Cemetery. His son Patrick died in 1924 and Patrick's wife Maggie died in 1920. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

This may be the civil death index record for Richard Monks. If you want to get a copy, let me know and I can forward instructions. A copy costs around 4 euros.

  • There are headstone transcripts for Whitestown cemetery, Rush on Internment.net , other cemeteries nearby are Kenure and St. Patrick's, Holmpatrick - all have Monks burials, but no sign of Richard or  Patrick and Margaret matching the dates you gave. There may be other relations named on these that might be familiar with. As far as I know St. Maur's itself has only a small cemetery for f burials for priests etc

  • Oh Roger thank you so much. I have been looking for this for the past year. I have gotten copies of DC before from GRO, so that I can do. I just needed the date, vol. and page #.

    Again, thank you so much.

  • Thank you for the links and advice. A friend of mine did send me a list of all the Monks' he could find in Whitestown. Sadly, none of them are my direct line.
