Sruffan seems to be a local name for an area within a townland, and is about 1 and a half km (c 1 miles) north east of the town of Carraroe. See google map and c1900 OSI map The historic OSI map shows a 'Sruffane pier', and also a 'Knocksruffaunavana', close to the village of Glashnacally. Both the pier and Knocksruffaunavana are located within Barraderry townland, which is in Killannin civil parish.
Knock, or Cnoc in Irish means hill and Knocksruffaunavana is included on the official placename database. The name of the hill in Irish is "Chnoc Shruth?n an Bheannaithe".
