Hi - I am looking for information on the parents, grandparents etc of Michael O'Connell born Milford 1846.  He married Mary McSheffrey from Culdaff in Donegal.

Many thanks if anyone can help.

  • If you want details of Michael’s RIC career, there are copies in various locations eg National Archives, Dublin & London. PRONI Belfast, but the PSNI museum in Belfast also have copies and will send you a copy, for a fee:

RIC policy was that their officers would not be posted to the county that they were born in (or where their wife was born), so expect him to have moved around the country.
