I am looking for information on James and Bridget (nee O'Brien) MURNANE. They are buried in a family plot in Kilteely Graveyard along with their son Michael Murnane, his wife Mary (nee Woods) and their granddaughter Catherine Murnane. I would like to find birth and death information for them, who all their children were, and possibly their parents or siblings names.
I found a transcription of a marriage record I believe is theirs for April 30, 1842. It seems there was more than one couple named James Murnane/Bridget O'Brien from Kilteely and I am trying to determine which of 17 children I found records for belong in my family. I can only confirm Michael (named above) and a daughter Bridget b. 09 Jun 1856 d. 15 May 1935 in Chicago. Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks for your response Col! I actually did find the records you have listed. However, due to the duplication in names and the long time span- from 1844-1876 - I am thinking they can't all be children of the same couple. As I mentioned, there was another James Murnane/Bridget O'Brien couple from Kilteely with a marriage date of 26 Sep 1864. Also, from ancestry.com another family tree with same parents but a child not in the above list. Very confusing :) Wondering in general if there is anything on the original records that would differentiate between families from the same parish with the same names. ?
Thanks.

I have some knowledge of this family as I remember the last remaining family member to live in Kilteely, his name was John Murnane from ballyvouden he died in the mid 1970's, I think he had a sister who lived in the USA? I would be interested in any information on this branch of the family. I am also aware that a number of the large to story farm houses build in Kilteely in the 1920-1940's were build by this family as they were excellent tradesmen.
In relation to the query you raised The James and Bridget Brien belonging to the ballyvouden family married in 1842 and lived all their life in ballyvouden Kilteely they had children up until possibly 1864 based on the original records of baptism Edmond was their last child born with a given addres in 1864, Bridget died on the 11 June 1867 aged 45 years so any children born following this date were from the other family James and Bridget living in the Villiage most likely 1st cousins but I cant be certain. James from Ballyvouden Died aged 60 years in october 1876. The James Born in october 1865, John born 1867, William 1871 and Bridget born 1876, were born to the James Murnane and Bridget Brien who married in september 1864.
hope this of some assistance.

I just saw this post from 2015. I hope someone is still following this family. My great grandfather was John Patrick Murnane b. 1854 per 1900 census in Chicago. It also says he immigrated in 1872. He came to the US with a brother but not certain of his name. They were in Chicago from 1881 that I know for sure. I wasn’t able to find them on the 1880 census but John married Anne Hart b. 1856 in Westmeath June 30, 1881. The brothers worked as teamsters driving for a coal company. I find three teamsters in the directories for Chicago. My John a James F and Michael. I have not found an obit for my John Patrick who died in 1917 but I found two obits for Michael d. 1890 and James d. 1889 and they both list Kilteely as their townland and place of birth. The family of James Murnane and Bridget O’Brien above does not seem to be my family because their son John was born 1867. Is there another family living in Kilteely that my John would fit better? . I may be looking at the wrong “brothers” for my John in Chicago also but is suspect these two men Michael and James were related. They lived at the same address 68 Wilson in the Chicago directories. They were both buried in Calvary cemetery in Chicago and my family was buried in Mount Olivet. Thanks. Ruth
