John Lynch listed as from Donegal Ireland married Catherine McCarville had two children Margaret 1843 and John 1846.  Then left to head to America ( Wisconsin) where they had two more children.  Any information to help trace these roots would be appreciated.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I had a look on rootsireland.ie but couldn't see any record of the baptism of children to John and Catherine or of their marriage. It might be that the parish records do not go back that far - this is the case for a lot of parishes in the pre-famine era and Donegal would fall into that category.  Where did you get your info - family knowledge?

Do you think you have exhausted all of the record sources your side -  death records, newspaper obits etc?

As you can see from the link below, Lynch was a very common name in Donegal and across Ireland in the 19th Century:

There are over 200 Lynch families listed in Co. Donegal in Griffith's Valuation in the mid-1950s:

It would narrow things if we had John's father's first name as we could attepmt to find a parish.

    Best wishes
