I am looking for a marriage record for Mary Fox and Farrell Curran. I figure that the marriage would have been between 1855 and 1865. There is a Hugh Curn born to a Fergal Curn and Mary Fox in 1856 in CorratillonTempleport. There is a Peter Currin born to Farrell Currin and Mary McShanahy in 1876. McShanahy is the old name for Fox. There are various other children born between 1855 and 1876. I do not know if Mary Fox and Mary McSahanhy are actually the same person or if Feral Curn and Farrell Curran are the same people. There could be more than one family here.
I figure that any marriage between Mary Fox (McShanahy) and Farrell Curran would have been between 1855 and 1865. On the family search site I can see several marriages for Farrell Curran and many marriages for Mary Fox. The family search screen just provides an index and page number. It does not seem to show the spouse im many cases. Is there any way to see the spouse attached to a particular person. I have sent for records from the General Registrar in Ireland in the past but how do I know I am requestng the correct record?

Tim:
I checked Roots and did not find a Farrell Curran/Mary Fox marriage in Co. Cavan or Co. Leitrim for 1850-1870. There is only one Farrell Curran marriage in that time period --- an 1865 marriage between Farrell Curran and an Ellen Prior in the Bawnboy registration district.
FYI--Civil registration for non-Catholic marriages started in 1845 and in 1864 for RC marriages. You can't determine the spouse in a civil marriage index record unless Roots has civil marriage records for a particularly county.Leitrim does have the civil records on Roots but Cavan does not.
