Hello,
My great grandfather Joseph Donoghue was born in 1886 in Clonmore to James Donahoe and Elizabeth Fenlon (I am unsure of the spelling of 'Donoghue' as I've come across many different ways to spell it). James Donahoe was born in 1854 and Elizabeth Fenlon was born in 1857. I cannot find a death date for her so if there is any information on that I'd be very appreciative to hear it. Also, James Donahoe's parents were James Donohoe and Judith Doyle. Judith was born in 1823 but I can't find a birth or death date for James. Any information on the above names would be great.
Thanks
Katelyn Hanna

Hi Katelyn,
Thank you very much for your message. I hope that someone with information makes a connection with you and helps you to further your research.
In the meantime, I did a quick search of online indexes to Irish civil records for Elizabeth. As Elizabeth would have died after 1864 there would be a civil record of her birth. Two possibilities came up; an Elizabeth born in Carlow 1856 and an Eliza born in Carlow in 1857:
Unfortunately, there is no way to know for sure if these are relevant just by looking at the indexes. In order to get a copy of the actual cert you will need to contact the GRO. They can give you a research copy for 4 euro per cert. Here are their contact details:

Also, have you tried looking for Elizabeth in the 1901/1911 census records? This may help you narrow down when her death occurred. You can search these online here: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/
