Hello I am researching my great grandmother's family in Whitechurch Cork. She was born in Whitechurch about 1864 to Michael and Hannah Murphy. She had a younger brother John.
I would be very grateful of any info regarding Murphy's in Whitechurch. Are there any records go Michael and Hannah's graves. .
thanks you any info

Hello,
I am also researching my Murphy line. I am uncertain, so far, as to where my Murphy family originated - only that it is County Cork. My great-grandfather Michael Murphy married a Mary Crowley in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1887. I have tracked Mary Crowley down to the vicinity of Whitechurch. My experience is that it is not uncommon to find that immigrants often congregate with and even marry other immigrants from the same parish back in Ireland. My Michael Murphy's parents are listed on the marriage records and elsewhere as Thomas Murphy and Johanna Keeffe. Michael was born about 1865. Both parents surnames are common in the Whitechurch area and so, when I saw your posting of children born in that timeframe in Whitechurch to a Thomas Murphy and a Hannah, it peaks my curiosity.
