I am trying to get records of the Goggin family. Griffith's Valuation 1824-26 shows "Edmond Goggin of Ringmeen, Clonmel" and John Goggin of Kerry Rd and Fethard Rd.
My Great Great Grandfather Michael was married in 1845 in Carrick but his Father (?) Thomas might have been from Clonmel 1798.

Hi xanadu,
If you go to www.rootsireland.ie You will find two baptismal records for a John Goggin in the parish of St. Peter and Pauls inClonmel in 1837 and 1842. You would have to pay per view, but as it's such an unusual name it might be worth it.
You couls also look up Edward Goggin and see if anything comes up.
I found that when you are dealing with an unusual name it's a good strategy to omit dates in your search and view what shows up (if there are not too many records).
Hope this helps you on your way,
Anne Dennehy
