Ancestry.com connections show Alexander Gordon born on February 22, 1795 in Kill St. Niclolas Waterford, Ireland. I believe this to be my great, great grandfather who is buried near my home. His tombstone shows his death date of February 1882 at 87 years old. I recall my grandmother telling me many years ago that we were Irish. I would love to confirm this information and my Irish Heritage.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi Jan,
Thank you for your message.
Do you have any other information on Alexander that you could share? Do you know anything about his emigration? When did he emigrate, who did he emigrate with? If you could find his emigration records this would help confirm his Irish origins and also may give you more information on him. A good place to start your search is the US National Archives at the following link:
http://www.archives.gov/research/immigration/
You could also try looking in church records for confirmation on Alexander's birth in Ireland.
Most Catholic records are held locally. One website which may be of help to you is the irishtimes website where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. The Civil parish of Kill ST. Nicholas is most likely in Kilea Roman Catholic Parish. To see what records are available there follow this link:
For Church of Ireland records check http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42 and http://www.nationalarchives.ie/. The Anglican Record Project is has created an index to their records: http://ireland.anglican.org/cmsfiles/pdf/AboutUs/library/AngRecord/bunclodyunionindex.pdf
