Hello

I am just starting to look into my Grandfathers side of the family....John Joseph Reck b.in May 1911....just a month after the 1911 census!... Father is Patrick Reck...I have found 'Residents of a house 12 in Enniscorthy' in the 1911 census which refers to Patrick Reck and family but unsure if this is the right one.

thanks

  • There’s a birth for a John Joseph Reck registered in Enniscorthy Apr – Jun 1911 Volume 4, page 500. That seems likely to fit with the family you have found, and it’s the only one in Ireland in 1911, but I’d order a copy of the certificate to see.

You can order a photocopy of the certificate from GRO Roscommon for €4 (euros).  http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx

You have to download and print off the form. Then either post or fax it back to them. You can’t e-mail it to them. However if you want them to e-mail the cert to back to you, they will do that, so tick the relevant box.

Put the reference details on the form (anywhere). Don’t worry about leaving some boxes blank. As long as GRO have the location, name(s), year, quarter (where there is one), volume and page number they should find it.

  • Hello Brendan, I have just seen his thread. I am the granddaughter of a large Catholic RECK family in Tagoat / Yoletown 1860s through to the 1930s (and some are still there).

    Can you reply to me?

    Thanks,

    Laura Davies.
