Jenny:
I saw you posted a message yesterday looking to determine where in Ireland your great-great grandfather John Guinn came from. Now you are looking for his son James. Do you know when James was born (approximately)? Guinn was a fairly rare name in Ireland in the 19th century. The more common surnames were Maginn and McGinn which were mainly found in Ulster province.

Jenny there are 14 matches for John Quinn marriage to Jane 1891 + - 10 years
There are none for Guinn
For John Quinn born 1831 there are 36 matches for baptisms. There are 6 in April but others a month or so later. It is hard to know whether he was baptised immediately or a month or two later!
I'm a bit stuck

Please clarify for Col and I so we can assist you.
Did John and Jane marry in Ireland and what was the approximate year. Civil registration started in 1864 so if they were married in Ireland we might be able to locate a civil marriage index record.
Do you know Jane's maiden name?
What year was James Guinn born?
