My great-great grandfather, Michael Donovan, was from the townn of Brulea within the Parish of Kilfaughnabeg. He was born in the 1820s and was the son of Patritius (this may be a latinized version of Patrick) Donovan and Helena Driscoll. He immigrated to the United States circa 1850 and settled in Livingston County, New York. I do not know if he had any siblings. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has connections with this family. Also, I would be interested in anyone who had Donovan or Driscoll family living in the Parish of Kilfaughnabeg or the surrounding Parishes of Myross, Kilmacabea and Ross.

Tom:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The RC parish records for Kilfaughnabeg parish also know as Kilmacbea or Leap do not start until 1832. Here is the online parish register http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0067 The records for this parish are also on www.irishgenealogy.ie I did a quick check (records were listed under Kilmacbea) and did not find any siblings but you should check also.
The 1852 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kilfaughnabeg shows between 30-40 Donovan records so the name was very common in the parish. Only 5 Driscoll records. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/cork/kilfaughnabeg.htm

HI tom
Are you on Ancestry or Gedmatch. In have tracked back with a few of my matches and this area has cropped up a few time with Driscolls and O Donovans in their trees.
I'm trying to trace back to where my GG grandfather Corneilius O Donovan came from.He died in Enniskeane in 1915.Noel Murphy
