Bridget McAvoy Ballentougher Sligo

A couple issues. There is no Ballentougher (or variant spelling) in Achonry parish. The 1858 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Achonry parish does not show any McAvoy records but there are two McEvoy records (no Patrick).

The 1901 census for Achonry parish does not show any McAvoy or McEvoy households so unlikely there would be any remaining relations in Ireland unless a daughter stayed in Ireland and married and descendants are still in Sligo.

What year was Bridget born? Did she marry in Ireland?

I have just received the Baptismal records information for my great grandmother and her sisters.

A cousin paid the County Sligo Hertiage Society to look up family records.

The spelling of McAvoy is different on almost everything.  Bridget McVeigh born April 6, 1868 was

baptized in Riverstown parish.  I believe her twin sister Anna McVeigh stayed in Ireland.

I have the Church and civil marriage records for Bridget's parents-such a great gift from a third cousin

who I just met by e-mail.

I will be in touch when I have reviewed all the records and can ask help.
