Hello, my great grandmother was Margaret Joy {it is said from Listowel} b. abt 1841. She married a James Roche and had children John, James, Margaret, Thomas and Patrick living in Knocknagoshel for most of her life. I am searching her birth, marriage and death information as well as her parents. Her mother may have been Helen Horan. My DNA matches others with Joy ancestry. Thanks for any help.

G Roche:
Welcome back!
www.irishgenealogy.ie is a free irish government site which has Co. Kerry church records. I can see a number of possible records for the children of James and Margaret in Knocknagoshel parish. Based on their years of birth I would guess that Margaret was born later than 1841.
I did find a civil marriage index record for a Margaret Joy and one of the possible spouses was a James Roche and I'm wondering if this is the record for you ancestors?

Thank you!
Margaret Joy did marry James Roche sometime before 1869 in Kerry, I believe

I found the baptismal records of Margaret & James Roche's children so her birth date had to be later than 1841. I agree.
Her last child was born in 1896.

Thank You. These are my ancerstors. i believe Margaret Joy's mother may have been Helen Houran

I see from the Census 1901 that James was born c 1840 in Co. Limerick. There are 20 James Roche children baptised in Co. Limerick 1838-1842. I can find no marriage for this couple either in Limerick or Kerry Church records.
But the Civil Marriage Record is a definite match Roger and G.
You can get a research copy of the marriage from the GRO in Roscommon for 4euros G and then we will have the father's names which will greatly assist us in the search. Do get back to us G.
Best wishes
Martine

Here is the link G but do read it carefully (I think it's confusing) The online request works out to be much more expensive than downloading the doc and posting it to Roscommon but it will take a little longer maybe.
