I am looking for family of my 2 great grandfather, Dennis Hayes. He married Ellen Gleeson in Feb. of 1851, emigrating to Philadelphia shortly thereafter.

www.rootsireland.ie/ does not have Clare marriages but does have birth/baptisms; there are some Hayes but no Denises; this is the only Ellen (16 when married?):

I guess it is possible since it was during the famine years. Her marriage witness, Connor Gleeson, was from Snatha?

Hi MyHayes1,
I have recently tracked my Gleeson ancestors to O'Callaghans Mills parish in County Clare. My 2x great grandfather was Martin Gleeson and he was baptised in O'Callaghans Mills parish in January 1861 - the witnesses were Connor Gleeson and Catherine Gleeson. I have not yet determined the relationship between Martin and Connor. Martin's parents were Patrick Gleeson and Mary Lacey and Patrick's parents appear to have been Michael Gleeson and Honora O'Brien.
Patrick was from Snata/Snatha/Snaty when he was married in 1853 and when his first child (Patrick) was baptised in 1854. They then moved to Craggs by the time their second child (Margaret) was baptised in 1856.
So Ellen, Connor and Patrick may have been siblings, first cousins or second cousins.
ps. My 2x great grandfather Martin emigrated to Sydney, NSW, Australia in 1880. He married Margaret Murphy, also from County Clare, in 1883. I have uploaded a photo of Martin's son Francis with his daughters and grand daughter.
