Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me resolve this. I am researching the Anglim family in Clare.
The 1821 Freeholders list for Clare lists Thomas and James Anglim as either tenants or freeholders in a place variously spelt as Clounloughney/Clounloghny/Clonloghna.
When I have tried searching online nothing comes up for County Clare. The most similar name I can find is Clounloughna but it is in Limerick County. The most similar name I can find in Clare is Clonloghan but I don't know if this is the same place.
I would very much appreciate it if anyone can clarify this for me.
Thanks,
Grant.

Welcome back to Ireland Reaching Out!
I will contact one of our parish liaisons in Co. Clare who might be able to assist. I don't think Clonloghan is correct because it is in the Ennis barony and the Anglim records were in Tulla barony. possibly it was a place name that did not become an official townland.

Hi Grant:
Many thanks for your query to Ireland Reaching Out.
Clonloughney is an old name for an area in Feakle that was owned by Francis Gore at one time. Here is the info through the Clare Library website under the Tithe Applotment Books by Parish (Feakle).
Anglim Ja's Anna Feakle Clonloghan; Pat'k Minogue, Mich'l Minogue, Ja's Anglim & Jno Anglim
Anglim Jno Anna Feakle Clonloghan; Pat'k Minogue, Mich'l Minogue, Ja's Anglim & Jno AnglimUnfortunately, many of these old field names died out when Griffith's Valuation was taken and they are no longer in use. Thanks for bringing this to our attention locally, as it is something that we now know about.
The Anglims are still in Feakle if you would like further information. If you need further information, please don't hesitate to contact me at: tulla@irelandxo.com.
Kind regards,
Jane.
