Hello I am looking for help/advice on Owen Kelly born Annagh., Cavan.  Parents unknown. I think he was born around 1841. Briefly in Cavan Militia in 1857 and then 10th foot - later The Lincolnshire Reg. Married an Ann Mcguire approx 1873 or before.I have never found a marriage.  I think she may have come from Redhills - but not sure. The family were Catholic. I realise they are both very common names and it is like looking for the needle in the haystack! Any help appreciated. Thanks.

  • Hello Eamonn & Many thanks for your kind reply. You are right - indeed they are most difficult to read! I looked for births at Annagh  but they do not seem to start until November 1845. Which parish do you think I need to look at?

Parish - Kilmore - records of marriages for 1873 . . . maybe you might be lucky in a thorough search for that year . . in that Church. Best of Luck.

    • Hello and thanks for your reply,.the Baptismal record for An Mcguire for April 1851 seems very promising.. as she died in 1919 age 70  - the age would be approximately right..  I have not yet found anything else - but I am still looking and hoping that one day soon I may have a breakthrough. The parish records are incredibly hard to read. I thought English ones were bad enough!
