Cathy,
You don’t say what denomination the Borland family were. Do you know? Do you know which church they attended?
For the Bradley family, I’ll assume they were RC. Unfortunately Ballymoney RC parish has no baptism or marriage records prior to 1853. So it won’t be possible to trace the family through church records.
I had a look at Griffiths Valuation for 1861m for the townland of Landhead. There was a William Borland listed. He had plot 2 which was a 25 acre farm. That was the only Borland household shown. There were no Bradley households but if the properties were of very low value they weren’t always listed in Griffiths. William’s name remains against that property till 1907 when he is replaced by Ann McKeague. However the property appears to have been empty in the 1901 census, so quite when William stopped living there or died is not totally clear.
I looked at the Rev Park’s census of Landhead in 1817 and there were 3 Boreland households there then: Robert & Jean and their children Rachel & William; William and Else and their children Robert, Rachel & Sarah and Widow Boreland with her son Alexander who is presumably the person who married Charlotte Neil.
No Bradley families in Ballymoney parish in that census.
That census is on Bill McAfee’s site. As is the 1803 agricultural census which lists Widow Boreland and Robert Boreland as having households there.

If the landhead family were Churhc of Scotland then that is a Presbyterian denomination. So you would want to focus on Presbyterian records around Ballymoney. Ballymoney 1st Presbyterian church and Roseyards both have some records for the early 1800s but there are gaps. Copies in PRONI in Belfast. Don't think they are on-line anywhere.

Hi Cathy
Alexander Borland and Charlotte Neill are my Great-Great Grandparents. Is there anything in particular you want information about.
Mary Boland
-
They are my 3rd great granparents I believe.I would love any information you have, especially parents.I guess we are cousins,so HELLO! Where are you from?
-
Hi Cathy.
I live in Russell, Ontario. My Great Grandfather was Alexander and Charlotte's son John. He bought land in Russell in 1854. Which of the children are you from. They had eight children: Thomas, William, John, Jennie, Robert, Paul, Lyle and Mary. My father knew Lyle. There are photos of Thomas but I have never found any photos of the others.
I am guessing you are from Thomas because he married Mary Pack. Thomas did live in Russell for a time, then North Gower before he moved to Manitoba. They first all settled in Goulbourn, Ontario in the Ottawa Valley.
I do have some information on this URL.

I mean sometime to put photos in and more information that I have found, but it might give you some information. If you have any photos of any of the older Borland generations I would love to share.

The marriage of Henry and Elizabeth: 15 Jan 1859 • Kilrea, Londonderry, N. Ireland. I have Elizabeths father as William
( IGI source film#101403. Ref241. Married by Joseph Dickey and Witnessed by John Kane and Mary Kane. From Marriage extract. Married in 2nd Kilrea Presbyterian Church, according to the Form & Discipline)
It would be interesting if this is aniother branch of your Borlands. My connection is through the marriage of my 3rd G Grandfather Henry Rainey.

Hi I am looking for history prior to 1750 in Ireland for family members of Borland. I have some history from leaving Ireland to Ontario to Manitoba.
William Robert Borland, born March 17,1886 in Clearsprings,Manitoba Canada(now known as Steinbach).
William married Florence Pearl Skillen.I would also like any information regarding the ancestors of Florence Skillen in Enniskillen, Ireland. This is part of my mother’s family. On her father’s side we are trying to track Maxwell Murray who left Scotland as a boy unaccompanied by an adult but have no record of him until he was middle aged in LaRivierre Manitoba. Eventually I’d like to track my father’s side which are Martha Boyd and Richard Henry Sharpe of Belfast. Any assistance would be great.Kimberly

There were two brothers who came from Ontario to Clearsprings, Mb about a year apart. Robert and Thomas. I believe his sister in law was Sarah? I’m not at home at the moment. Their parents were Alexander and Charlotte.

William Borland from Landshead was my 4th great grandfather. He was married to Rachel Brady. I recently spent some time in Ballymoney and met some distant cousins. The Borland family still lives on the homestead ther.I have pictures of their gravestones as well.Alexander was married to Charlotte Neil. I have more info but haven't added it to my ancestry tree yet.So it looks like we are distant cousins.
