I'm researching the Lawrence McCarthy/Ann Ryan family from this area. Lawrence and Ann and their 12 children emigrated to the U.S. (Chicago, Illinois area) in 1850. Ann died of cholera on the canal boat from New York and was buried in Milwaukee. The rest of the famly settled in the Chicago area, and most of the children married there. I have considerable information on this family if anyone is researching them, most of which is on a public tree on the Ancestry.com website.
