I'm looking for my ggggrandparent's information: Daniel Dacey married Margaret ? in Ireland. They moved to Boston and had my gggrandmother Johanna b.1852 (d.1890 in Boston) I don't know how many children Daniel & Margaret had. I looked through census records for Boston and couldn't pinpoint the correct family. Without knowing Margaret's last name, I can't find their marriage. Johanna married John Hughes and I have information to the present.
I found a notice in the Boston Pilot dated Dec. 4, 1858 - Daniel Dacey is looking for his brothers Jeremiah and Michael (Deasy) - they are natives of Cripplehill Parish Kilbritain near Bandon County Cork. It states that Jeremiah came to the US about 1844 and Michael 1850 - Daniel last heard that they were in Pennsylvania.
Daniel (& Jeremiah) lived on Cove Place in Boston - The Sunday Herald dated November 23, 1884 called Cove Place the poorest of the poor in Boston. I have the articles, if anyone is interested.
Another Dacey researcher found Jeremiah's information - if anyone is interested in him.
Any information on my Dacey's would be helpful.
Thanks so much.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I searched on www.irishgenealogy.ie and Roots Ireland in Co. Cork from 1840-1850 and only found one marriage record for a Daniel Deasy/Dacey with a wife Margaret which is shown below. I don't know if this is the correct record but it is a lead.
You may want to consider autosomal DNA testing.

Hi Jan,
I too have Deasy/Dacey ancestors from the Kilbrittain area who went to Boston. I looked at some of the web sites I've found helpful for research and found a Jeremiah in Cripplehill in the Tithe Applotment Books from 1833. Here's the link: http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/results.jsp?…

Hi, Im looking for information on my great grandparents and the rest of my Deasy family, I have been searching for quite a while now and cant seem to find out much about my them. My family are also quite secretive and dont tell me much about my family backgorund. My great grandfathers name is William Deasy married to Hannah (Dolly) O'mahony, they married in 1942 at North Cathedral St Mary & St Anne in Cork. He was known to close friends and family as (Willie) He died in 2003 at south infirmary victoria unviersity hospital. They had two children togther ; my Grandad (Cornelius Declan Deasy) (born 1994 deceased 2009) and Frank Deasy who is still living in Cork as far as I am aware. They all lived on Marie ville, Pouladuff Road, Cork. http://falvey.id.au/getperson.php?personID=I855&tree=falvey I have spent a lot of time trying to research into my family and this is all I can find about William. Before meeting Hannah O'Mahony he lived on Bandon road, Cork. My father is David Deasy son of Cornilius Declan Deasy. From what I have researched, the Deasy's have a connection with the Falvery Family and Mulchay Family. Can anybody help please?http://www.deasyreunion.myevent.com/page.php?groupingID=myblog&blog_id=… I have also found this website - Deasy Reunion. My email address is kalissemarketing@gmail.com. Many thanks x
