Hi There! I am traveling to Ireland next week and in desperate need for any information on the family members below or any remaining family members. Any information would be great, I have done my fair share of research but hoping to further connect through here. If there is someone you may know who could also help, PLEASE share this with them!
John Joseph Flynn: born Jan 5th 1856 in Tullanaglug, Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo. Parents were Pat Flynn and Mary (Quinn) Flynn
Ann (Walsh) Flynn: born Nov 22nd, 1863 in Coolecuill, Kilmacteuge, Co. Sligo. Parents were Michael Walsh and Attracta Walsh
I have had lots of family including both John and Ann baptized at St. Attracta's Church (Kilmacteige Parish).
I am planning to visit this area and Parish on my travels. Please reply with any information, it is GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you!
Madelyn

Madelyn:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Have you identified all the siblings for John and Ann? Did they marry in Ireland? I was unable to locate a marriage record on my first pass.

Hi Roger,
Thank you for responding so quickly. They were married in Salem, Massachusetts in the United States.
John's siblings were Bridget Flynn, Mary (Flynn) Redmond, Margaret Flynn and Pat Flynn.
Ann's siblings were Sarah Walsh, James Walsh, Ellen (Walsh) Johnson and Honor Walsh.
(What I have of my family tree reads Ann, but birth records may read Anne)
Thank you so much!

Also, the Flynn family of Tullanaglug owned a dairy farm for many generations, if this helps!
Thank you!!

Madelyn:
I also found an Honor baptized on November 17, 1872. The mother was shown as Margaret Quinn on a number of records.
This 1901 census reocrd is likely for the family
http://census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Sligo/Banada/Tullanaglug/1… and 1911 just showing the younger Patrick with his family. http://census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Sligo/Banada/Tullanaglug/7…
I found 10 children for Michael Walsh and Attracta Maye. They lived in Coolrecuill: Mary 1859 Bridget 1860 Patrick 1861 Anna 1863 Michael 1866 Attracta 1868 Catherine 1869 Sarah 1872 James 1874 Ellen 1876
1901 census (townland misspelled) http://census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Sligo/Banada/Cloonrecuill/…
1911 census (Michael had died) http://census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Sligo/Banada/Coolrecuill/7…

Hi Roger, and Maddie,
Are there any birth and death records for pat and Margaret (Quinn) Flynn? In the 1901 & 1911 Census it references House 10,25,& 29 does that correspond to a current location that maybe the farm that maddie can go to?

Paul/Maddie:
The house numbers found in the 1901 and 1911 were assigned by the constable who enumerated the townland in this case Coolrecuill. As he came into a townland, the first house visited was house 1, the second house 2 etc. A family could have been house 1 in 1901 and house 20 in 1911 and lived in the same house. There is no connection to a current location.
If Patrick and Margaret were baptized in Kilmacteige you won't find their baptismal records because Kilmacteige RC records start in 1845.
Looks like Patrick died in 1904 and Margaret in 1914.

Hi, my name is James Walsh and from what I can see the Ann Walsh you are asking about is a sister of my grandfather , also james Walsh, born in Coolrecuill on 4th July 1874. I have some information on the Walsh side of the family but not on the Flynn side although I am aware that members of a Flynn family still live in Tullinaglug.

Hi Madelyn, I just joined so I am sorry I couldn't get this info to you before your trip. James Redmond and Mary Flynn Redmond were my great grandparents. I was born and raised in Salem, MA. My paternal grandmother was Florence (Redmond) Gravel, the youngest of their children. I actually just connected with my (2nd?) cousin Kevin Flynn on Ancestry.com and shared my tree. He told me that the Flynn family still owns the same dairy farm in Sligo that has been in the family for over two centuries. If I can be of any help, let me know.
