Trying to locate any information about William who was tried in Dublin for stealing a horses haulter. He was a groom and porter and tried and convicted and given 7 years in Australia.  When he completed his sentence he stayed, married and settled into life in the colonies.

I am interested to see if there is a newpaper report of the trial and if there is any information about his family and who his parents were.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out

You can access newspaper archives for Irish Newspapers at this link: Newspaper Archives

As far as I am aware, you can subscribe for as short a period as 24 hours and they usually offer deals around holiday times like 4th July etc.

This might also be useful: Ireland-Australia transportation records (1791-1853)
