Researching these two allied families in the parish of Annagh.  Both families emigrated to Carlton Co., Ontario, Canada, in the mid-1820's.  Also linked to the STORY family in Annagh, who lived in the Corrorud townland area.  Hoping to make a connection here.

  • Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Would you mind giving some background info to the families so that anyone researching can learn more and perhaps help you out?

    Best wishes

  • I have come across some Pratts in Belturbet, which is in the Parish of Annagh, in County Cavan.

The 1901 & 1911 census, Joseph Pratt is the head, wife Sarah and son Francis.

The 1931 Trade Directory lists Francis Pratt, Builders, Painters and Decorators, and Sarah Pratt, Grocers.

I aslo have a Anne Elizabeth McCloughry who married Henry Noble. They had William Henry (b 1881), and Alexander (b 1884)

William married Euphemia Storey (b 1870 in Co Longford, parents Richard Storey & Ann Eliza Morton),  Alexander married Margaret Storey. They may have been sisters, but I can't find proof of parents for Margaret.

    Margaret also married a McCormack.

The Nobles lived in County Longford

I have found a Y DNA match for my brother with Nobles from Ireland and Scotland. Storeys and Nobles were Border Reivers, I am trying to track both families back to the Border Counties in England and Scotland.

This may be of some use to you,

    regards,

    Suzanne
