Hi Susan,
Sorry for delay in getting back to you and for having so little to add to your information.
Found Will probates for Robert Steele in Summercove for two different dates in 1700s but nothing more. Summercove in Kinsale is about 40 miles from me and I would love to help but I have insufficient local knowledge of tha area that would help.If you haven't already got the info of the Will Probates, I will post them for you and I will continue to look for Steele connections in the area.

Just a bit of background - I am a descendant of an Irish Steele family, the information we have comes from a family bible which came down through one of the female lines. It says Richard Steele (1773-1854) of Kyle Wexford went first to the East Indies for 5 years then went to the Caribbean Island of Grenada where we have his will and know his descendants. He had a sister Lydia Margaret Steele (1770) who married John Dacre or D'Acre a french emigre possibly a Huguenot of Mountrath Queen's Co, some of her children called themselves Deaker and we know of some of the Irish lines and one that went to Australia. The family bible also names Richard's siblings as Anne (abt 1776-) who married a Ringwood, Catharine who married M.T.Smith and Robert who married a Miss Moore (sister of Mr Moore of Grafton St. Dublin and John Moore of Port Arlington) Robert's daughter was Eliza Steele who married a Mr Chancellor.
We have been struggling to find out the parents of Richard and his siblings and believe that while Kyle Wexford was indicated in the bible that it may well have been Kyle Queen's County Steele's that we are related to. This belief comes from a signet ring with the coat of arms of Sir Richard Steele of Hampstead, Dublin which is known to have been in the hands of one of Richard's sons in the early 1800s.
The new theory is that Harriett Steele of Queen's Co married her cousin Major Robert Steele in 1770 in Dublin, Harriet being the daughter of Sir Richard Steele of Hampstead.
The lineage we think is:
Robert Steele of Summer's Cove (father of Sir Richard Steele of Hampstead (1701) and Robert Steele (abt 1699) and Samuel Steele 1695 baptized St Nicholas Without Dublin..
Robert (abt 1699) m Saragh Palmer in 1742 in Diocese of Ossory and they had Major Robert Steele and Major Richard Steele of Kyle 1744-1835.
His brother Richard (1701) of Cork married in 1732 at St Mary's Parish Church Dublin Dorathy Armstead and became in 1768 1st Baronet Hampstead. .Some of their children the last name in baptismal records was spelled Steel and some Steele. Harriett was (we believe the 8th of 11 children) no baptismal record for her has been found but she was named in Burkes as daughter of Sir Richard Steele Hampstead and his wife Jane (Dorathea) Armstead. Her marriage to her cousin Major Robert Steele of Summer's Cove is recorded there as well.
So now to test our theory we want to know if our Richard 1773 and siblings were children of this union.
By the way there is a strong Methodist line in our Richard Steele's Grenada descendants as well as Lydia Margaret Steele Dacre's descendants which may be of interest.
Cheers, Susan
