Hi. I have been searching in Templeorum online records searching for my WALSH ancestors. On several of the baptismal records I have found, the residence is listed as Artlone. http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000635391#page/37/mode/1up
The baptism took place on July 28, 1850 for Thomas Walsh, son of Philip Walsh and Judy Burke. Checking at Roots Ireland, there are others that are listed as coming from Artlone as well.
I am having a hard time locating Artlone on a map or finding any reference to it. I see Ardclone and Ashtown, but nothing resembling Artlone. Does anyone know where this place is, or was?
Thanks so much for your help!
Marcia

I’d say it’s a variant of Ardclone, in Fiddown. There’s a couple of Walsh households in that townland in Griffiths Valuation for 1850.

Marcia, I'm also a descendant of Phillip and Joana. Would it be possible to get more information from you? My grandmother is the last of her generation and refuses to discuss ancestry. I would appreciate any help you could offer.
