Hello! My name is Coleen (nee Gosnell) Wheeler and I have paternal ancestors purportedly from Belfast. My great-great grandmother was Louisa Coffey and she was born in Belfast. Her parents and older brother, however, were born on the Isle of Man. My paternal great-grandfather was William Green and he was purportedly born somewhere in Ireland but I can't find much on him. Everyone came to the US in the mid to late 1800s (my grandfather was born here in 1898).
I would be very interested in contacting someone with these surnames or who have them in their past. My son and I are planning a trip to Ireland in the next year or two and would love to have some insight on where to visit with family connections!
Thanks for such a wonderful site!

Dear Coleen
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the long delay in getting back to you.
I would need a little more detail on William, an estimated year of birth, for example to see what records, if any, are available. I couldn't locate a baptism for Louisa Coffey either. As she was born prior to 1864 there won't be a birth record for her at all.
I hope someone with a connection to the family will be in touch. In the meantime, I wanted to invite you to add your ancestor's details to our XO Chronicles. You can learn more about it HERE and it might be another avenue to consider so that your ancestor's details can be seen by others. Thanks for your lovely comments!
Best wishes
Clare Doyle
