When Father Browne was invited to spend a two day cruise on the world's largest liner, little did he think that his photos of the event would provide some of the few images ever taken of the Titanic.

Jesuit Irish priest Father Francis Browne is renowned as one of the most important Irish photographers of the last century. His photographs of early 20th century life and events provide an insightful social commentary of the times, as well as covering some of the stand out events of that era such as the Titanic voyage and World War I.

This video is a must-see short film about his amazing experience on the ill-fated maiden voyage of the Titanic.  Browne's pictures of the initial part of the voyage were front page news across the world and remain to this day a thought-provoking testament to the people on board - many of whom never made it back to dry land.
