My great grandfather was William Francis Quinn, born in May of 1862, supposedly in Co Clare. His parents were Henry and Annie Melia. One Melia, Martin, has been found in this parish in Griffiths. Would anyone have any information about Martin Melia, of Kilcorcan? did he have a daughter Annie, born, I would guess, sometime around 1830? or anything about Henry Quinn?
William, at least, emmigrated to the US in 1867 or 8 and I can find nothing about him until his marriage record of 1884 and of course everything i have found lists only Ireland as place of birth! I don't know if his parents came with him or if he came with someone else.
Thanks so much in advance

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Finding Co. Clare church records online is difficult. Here is a link to the Kilkeady/Kilkeedy parish register. You may want to search the register for William's baptismal record.

I could not find a record for William on Roots Ireland or Find My Past.
You may want to consider autosomal DNA testing.

Based on approx. timeframe and a close match to his parents names, there's a possible match for William's baptism on the 5th January 1863, but in St. James' RC parish Dublin City rather than Co. Clare. He was born 27th December 1862, parents are Henry Quinn and Anne Mealy, residence is shown as Bow Lane.
see the second last entry on the left hand page (National Library), a transcript of the record is also available on the IrishGenealogy website, although Anne's surname has been mis-transcribed as 'Healey' - see here
edit : also a sister Anne, to this William baptised in the same parish in 1861.

MacLysaght says (O)Melia can be a variant of (O)Malley, and the Tithes show two Malleys in Kilkeedy, John and Bartholomew. Might be relatives.
