Liston in Crecora

Hello everyone.

I am cross-posting, having already posted this message in the Mungret community. I hope that is all right.

My 2nd great grandfather Thomas Liston left Limerick in 1841 for Canada and settled in New Brunswick. He had brothers James and Patrick who also emigrated and settled in Illinois, USA. In my searches in Irish records, I have found a lot of evidence to suggest he came from a family that was in the parish of Mungret and Crecora from the mid 1820s (at least) until just before Griffith's valuation. Primarily, I think they were in Logavinshire and Greenmount (Graigue) in Crecora; however, I suspect they were related to the Listons in various townlands in Mungret Parish.

As part of my effort to discover my Liston ancestry, I started a Liston Y-DNA project at Family Tree DNA. As a result, I have been able to establish a genetic signature of my Liston lineage. I would dearly love to find some Listons who can trace their ancestry back to Mungret and Crecora to join the project and test their Y-DNA. I am willing to pay for tests, so the obstacle of cost can be removed immediately.
