I searched on Roots Ireland and found eight children for Thomas and Honora in Shandrum: Bridget 1834 John 1835 Patrick 1837 Oliver 1838 Margaret 1841 Honora 1842 Mary 1844 Johanna 1848 The transcription for Johnna's record is below.

The 1852 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Shandrum civil parish showed a Thomas Ray in Newtown South townland. I assume this is your ancestor.

I too am tracing this family and have the details of the 8 children. We believe the father, Thomas Rea was born abt 1802 and died abt 1884 in Kanturk, Newtown.  The mother was Honora?mary/Maria or Margaret Gorman, born before abt 1815.

We have little infortmation about these two parents.  We believe Honora Gorman's parents were Francisca McCarthy and John Gorman.

Does anyone know more about these parents?
