Attached is a snip from the Wexford parish marriage records. The marriage date was January 24, 1842. The middle column between the names and the witnesses may be the location of the ceremony or the town where the couple lived. Would anyone be able to tell me the name of the town? The entries which contain ex, I would assume means that person originated or was born in that town -- last entry indicates ex Taghmon so the groom was originally from Taghmon? Thank you!

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Can you clarify the RC parish name? I looked on the Wexford RC parish records for January 1842 and the records are different.
From what I can see the word shown in the middle column is not a place name but a Latin word that appears in almost every record.

Marriage appears to have taken place in the parish of St. James & Templetown. The heading for that column (2nd next page) has Parochio, which means parish .. could the Latin word be the equivilant of OTP/of this parish ?
p./s. I'm familiar with the area, and the name doesnt look like any towns that I've heard of - Fethard, Slade, Churchtown, Arthurstown/King's Bay, Ballyhack, Duncannon and Ramsgrange.

Yes, it appears that the marriage did take place in the parish of St. James & Templetown. I did a translation of Parish from English to Latin and it came up as parochia which doesn't look like the written word in the picture. It's a puzzle. I'll have to look at other records from the parish and see if there are entries that are more legible. Thank you!

Parochia is the header - I think the word in question possibly begins with an 'L' maybe 'Lu' then followed by a 'g' or 'q' ...
There are so many marriages with the same word that I think this has to mean someting like 'of this parish', 'of this place' - any of the entries that do not have this word have recognizable parish names which fit the context of the header - e.g. Taghmon, Rathangan, Ross etc
